The following images show some of my early explorations into materials and processes. Partly inspired by associated materials and methods employed in Jo’s work, these initially included crystal growing, cementitious substances, heating, melting and freezing. Such experiments, alongside those in painting, have produced exciting results and provide many possibilities to carry forward into the creation of future artwork.

Growing crystals with Borax, Alum, Salt, Vinegar and Dolomite rock. The crystals grown from these have different crystalline structures and therefore different shapes.
